Redwood

I expect LAC will partner with Redwood in some form. Redwood is currently constructing a cathode active materials (CAM) plant in Reno. CAM (and more specifically CAM precursor) is the next step in the lithium ion supply chain. There is currently no CAM/CAM precursor production in the US, and this is the only facility currently under construction. It is only 200 miles from Thacker Pass.
Redwood will convert both lithium sulphate (produced from recycled batteries) and lithium chemicals (carbonate, hydroxide) to CAM precursor, and then CAM. I would not be surprised to see LAC prioritise/fast track the production of lithium sulphate for Redwood (in much the same way as they are prioritising non battery grade carbonate at C-O). Redwood are going to need a lot of lithium ions (in whatever form) by 2025.
In my opinion, it would not make sense for LAC and Redwood to not be partnering with each other.
