With all due respect the only thing I find interesting about this article is that it represents the poorest of journalism. It misrepresents the relationship between LAC and Ganfeng in order to take a swipe at Democrats. "[The Washington Free Beacon] has roots in the neoconservative wing of the Republican Party."
Time and time again in poorly researched articles we see the "problem" with LAC's relationship with Ganfeng. When will people realize that Ganfeng has nothing to do with Thacker Pass?
Having said this, the plan to split off Thacker Pass (and presumably all North American operations) from the main company that does have this relationship with Ganfeng, is at least partially due to this incorrect perception of Chinese "control and benefit". There is value to Minera Exar S.A. to not be associated with Thacker Pass and the potential for dilution brought about by future funding, and there is value to investors in Lithium Nevada (and all NA projects) to not be associated with the PERCEPTION of the benefit and control of Ganfeng.
This is why I am excited about hearing more related to the potential split. Again, all major announcements and decisions are on hold pending Judge Du's decision.
IMHO lol.
