As I have said once or twice before(!), if TP was in production today, the material would need to be exported to China for further processing into cathode materials.

This announcement today by Redwood represents yet another step in the development of the first @ scale US cathode production facility in the US, to be built in Reno, Nevada.

To reach their targets, Redwood will need 60ktpa of lithium chemicals beginning 2025, and 300ktpa beginning 2030. Allowing for 25% recycled material, that leaves 45ktpa and 225ktpa of newly mined material to be sourced locally.

I wonder where will they get that from ?
