Scott posted the article linked below on TOB this morning.  I thought I had posted it previously here on this Hub, but a quick survey by me this morning failed to find it.  The source is a writer for the Elko Daily Free Press and that newspaper is the source of many great articles about Thacker Pass over the years... this one is a terrific example.  My thanks to Scott for posting it on TOB.  It is from 3 September, but still has some great information.  Okiedo
