I am glad we are in Nevada and Argentina. On the other subject of emergency power. Here in Ohio natural gas is a great heat source , everything winterized and works great. My house has a gas heat and I love it, Heat Pump I had before not even close.

 So when I am thinking about emergency, first is a heat, I can install  fireplace which runs on natural gas and can be switched to propane. If electricity goes out- I still have gas in a line and if gas is off- I can switch to propane tank. I have small generator (2000 kw) but that has its plusses and minuses , good for refrigerator and lights. I come across a little unit which I also like , maybe I buy it in a future :
