A $398 million dollar diversion?? a third of the company's cash flow.

Let me ask you this to try and make light of HBM's purchase.

You own your home, and have $100,000 in equity that you can borrow to develop. You have your eye on the perfect reno to flip. You buy 1 unit of a 10 unit townhouse for $10,000 (let's say 10%)With the intentions of buying the entire block. Everybody in the neighborhood is talking up these townhouses, big lots that back onto a ravine etc. but the district is not changing at all. In fact the promised amenities from the government is taking forever (new streets, sewage upgrades, and building permits are a very slow process, Not to mention your local MP can't stay within their annual budget) You see the potential of these townhomes but instead on moving quickly to buy the other 9 units for $90,000 while the prices are depressed, you go and spend $30,000 on a single detached dwelling on the other side of town, in a neighborhood that has appreciated 100% already. A major home purchase with land taxes & utilities to pay just to "divert" the over whelming potential buyers that are looking at the other 9 townhouse units that you wanted to originally buy.

Is the above home purchase example the same diversion tactic that HBM is doing with BMK?
