Edit this title from the Fast Facts Section
On the other board, somebody (Brooklyn137) post the following.
On your post Duncanmcl (Feb.24 10:11), it is mention on Petromanas and Manas Petroleum!!!??? I'm still confuse! What do you think?
"There seems to be some confusion about these two companies. Manas Petroleum has interests in Krygyzstan, Tajikistan, Mongolia and Albania. (they recently sold their interest in Chile.) Their model is to do the intial geological work then farm out the actual drilling to large companies. They farmed out Krygyzstan and Tajikistan to Santos, an Australian company. They have kept about a 25% interest in both. (Santos pays for exploration. After discovery, Manas gets 25% and pays 25% of production costs, but not exploration costs.) They have not farmed out Mongolia yet, they are still in the geology stage.
With Albania they made a similar deal except that the farm out was to a new company, Petromanas. The officers of Petromanas are the same as the officers of Manas and the Board of Petromanas is half appointed by Manas and half by the new Canadian investors. This new company will develop the Albanian resources. Manas has claim to about half the fully diluted shares in Petromanas although they will probably wind up with less if Petromanas has to raise additional money.
Based on documents filed with Sedar, Petromanas has budgeted for two wells one of which will be drilled by Christmas this year and the other has no scheduled date as yet.
There is a lot of good information on the Manas site including a report by Gustavson about the amount of oil in Albania some of which has been drilled and verified by Oxy before they had to abandon because of the instability and war in the area. Similar information has been filed with Sedar by Petromanas and those documents are well worth the time to examine.
As you can probably tell, I have been invested in Manas for some time and think either Manas or Petromanas is a very good bet at this point.
