The link below is a PR about the manufacturing facility. Custom built manufacturing equipment takes months to build. If you look at the list at the bottom of the article there needs to be a coordinated effort from multiple suppliers to get a new filling line into operation. Couple this with the fact that we might have to wait months for the FDA to approve its' use on live product it becomes apparent to me the roll out ramp will be pretty steep. If as OPC opines the upfront cash from the "marketing partner" is $150- 250 million then I wonder how it gets done in a timely manner.
Even throwing money at manufacturers won't reduce the timeline very much. The company needs cash to operate. The burn rate will really take off once there is an approval. If the delivery mechanism can't meet demand it is a huge problem. Manufacturing has to exceed demand for Afrezza to reach the market potential. While you can make the argument these are the types of problems a company dreams about having I haven't seen this management team handle problems very well.
