When I was in testing to see if I qualified for a phase 3 trial on Bydureon (AMLN) I was told they were having such a difficult time at the International Diabetes Clinic in Minneapolis that they were hiring a firm to recruit via radio ads. I had two weeks of extensive tests and an MRI to qualify. 30 visits to the clinic, daily journaling and record keeping was challenging, but I enjoyed being part of the study. Compensation was not important to me, but the $1800 I received for the 3 years covered gas and bought a few Latte's. There is no shortage of diabetics but there is a shortage of willing participants and and even smaller pool that qualify.
