It sounds harsh, but I feel that way, and I know many who feel that way in the extreme - surprise, none of them is overweight!

Of course, next would be the argument of why a person is overweight.

Even though very obese people tend to die well below the average life expectancy, they do cost society a lot of money - it's something the non-obese should not have to subsidize.

On the other hand, like most money that is "wasted," to the extent it is paid to US citizens or corporations for services of whatever kind, the money is put into play... except for the bit that finds its way into those with extremely obese retirement accounts, bank accounts, etc. That's the same for the entire economy - even wasted money spent helps someone.
