In all the years I've followed stocks, I've never heard of a public offering that was placed with one, or even a handful, of buyers (it would be an awful waste of money, for one, as it's far easy to do a private placement). Of course, it may have happened many times, and it may be happening now, but the odds are overwhelmingly that this was just a good, ole, run-of-the-mill public offering.
