The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission wants to take a statement from newsletter writer Lawrence Roulston as part of its fraud suit against the Lines brothers of Bermuda. Mr. Roulston was asked to write about two companies that the brothers manipulated, the SEC claims. He also held shares in one of the companies, it states.
Mr. Roulston is one of two Vancouverites that the SEC is seeking to depose in the case, according to a motion filed in New York on Aug. 20. It also wants a statement from Malcolm Burke of West Vancouver, who is the former chief executive officer of one of the companies allegedly manipulated, SHEP Technologies Inc.
