Just crunch the numbers... they're pouring a 500-550oz bar each week. 700tpd*7*0.96*3.5g/t/31.1=529oz/week... the first production bar was 540oz.... so 3.5g/t seems about right.
Back in July they said the grade was 5.23g/t from the open pity - see below. I'm guessing the grade is not as high as expected at Barry. Probably a lot of even lower grade stuff there - thus the desire to mix it with Bachelor ore to bring the average grade up.
"Since the beginning of 2008, Métanor proceeded to the Bachelor mill a total of 53,901 metric tons of mill-feed at a grade of 5.23 g/t Au coming from the open pit of the Barry deposit. With an average recovery of 84.6%, Métanor thus recovered 7,655 ounces of gold. This represents an increase of approximately 25% of the gold content during the evaluation of the resources."
