Gold Junction is located 20 kilometres north of the +11 million ounce Round Mountain volcanics-hosted disseminated gold mine and south of the large, Newmont-controlled Northumberland Mine, a Carlin-type open pitted gold prospect.

 In January, 2006 Mexivada announced that it had staked 105 new claims in the Round Mountain area, Nye County, Nevada ("Ziggurat"). These claims were staked on sampled areas of Paleozoic, "upper plate" sedimentary rocks containing anomalous gold values, and are located 20 kilometres north of the +11 million ounce Round Mountain volcanic disseminated gold mine and south of the Northumberland Mine.
