A good patent lawyer will make sure the company covers all their bases in the patent description, the applied sciences and the actual applications. If the Brain Trust is involved (which I suspect they are), this is old hat for them and they will want to work closely with the patent lawyer to protect their own interests and creativity also. Even if we are not pursuing the IP to be used for a specific application and it can be, we will most likely describe those uses too. The patent should be described frontwards, backwards, sideways, upside down and inside out and air tight.
