I am not a chartist myself but many of my friends swear by it...I think I am just from an older era where we didn't use charts as much...as you might not know...I am older than dry mud....

I like the simpler charts like looking to see volume and price movements of a stock like MFN over the last year so I can get an idea of seasonal patterns and price and volume fluctuations....I do look at the money flow sometimes and stochastics on occasion but I feel those are better for stocks like Yamana which trades about 14 million shares a day...they are considered in my purchasing and selling decisions but not a major part...
