I was attending college in L.A., around 1970-1971, when that one happened. I was so used to miniquakes by then, but this one was different! With the power lines going down, (if I recall around 6am and still dark), it actually looked like an attack. My hanging candle swung about two feet in either direction. Much damage done, many deaths, and newly built freeways just collapsed. The flashes outside were like huge lightning, but it was the power lines. I do not live there anymore!
