That is the real question. But, to answer the first ``part`` of the question; it`s by delivering positive results revealing the value of the company. One way to kill the shorts is with good news, good news, and more good news. THAT will squeeze them into oblivion.
The answer to the second part? Get on the NYSE. Not the AMEX or NASDAQ you ask? Yep, because WHO are the biggest ``players``? The MMs. The only way to escape the MMs is on the NYSE, where (as of a few years ago) only 2% of the stocks are ``managed`` by MMs. This is in contrast to the AMEX where (I believe) some 75% of the stocks are managed/controlled by MMs, and the NASDAQ where a whopping 98% are managed/controlled by MMs.
Additionally, the NYSE is more respected by the investment community, bring in more real investors (vice short-term speculators).
