mich, Micron aquission of Lexar was smart move. Toshiba lost in court to Lexar over nand patents but the final settlement was still in courts (initial award was several hundred million). Micron also joined up with Intel to manufacture flash nand chips but needed Lexar patents. I thinks Micron paid approx 700mil for Lexar. Looking at this deal with Toshiba, large chunk of Microns`s accusition costs were made back with just this one deal with Toshiba. They also own patents which I`m sure others will need to license. Sometimes small players such as Lexar and PTSC don`t have the clout to exert pressure on the rest of the industry. Takeover of PTSC by a big player (ex. AMD, INTC, IBM or Sony) could push MMP portfolio to the fore-front. I`m suprised that we have not been taken over by this time. Who knows, that may happen yet.

ps: now I`m starting to sound like the analyst from the RB board. just my 2cent. Hope today, we`ll make back all we lost yesterday, cheers, and may you all have a great weekend.

spelling police, sorry for any typos.
