Think of it from a common sense standpoint. MM's take in inventories of shares by buying from retailers (us), and sell shares by selling to retailers (us). If 30 million shares were sold, with only 300k bought over the last month that can mean one of 3 things - 1)the MM's took in and are holding 30 million shares in inventory 2) if the numbers represent wholesale numbers, that means retailers bought 30 million more than we sold, or 3) the CNBC numbers are wrong.
My bets on 3)
