Message: Re: The timing of the letter release....

Since I am apparently the main complainer about the timing of the letter I will state that, IMHO, so much should not have been made of the letter. We had a good thing going on the dividend news and yet the action was nipped at the bud by news of yet more news. I would have preferred that this letter came out on Monday morning rather than Friday. We were still gaining on Friday and needed that momentum to carry itself to whatever level it found. Then on Monday we could have yet had another "news event" furthering the PR value.

On top of that, Bo, we then would also have the Dutton News to follow on Monday where it would have had the most exposure. Most of us have trading platforms that deliver the news as a check next to each stock. That drives sales, hidden sales, and by that I mean new investors perhaps who have never heard of the stock. As well, we would have gained the attention to all of those former investors who may have been involved with the stock last year for the run-up. Volume, in this business, is king.

But you see, Bo... I could be wrong and in either event, it is not that big of a mistake and that is to say, if it was a mistake at all. In my opinion, yes, I would have liked to stretch the news out.

We have probably all heard journalists complain and explain how the federal gov't., when they have bad news to deliver, often deliver it on a Friday or even over the weekend. They hope that it gets lost in the shuffle or ignored by the US population and the same thing happens in stocks. Usually, the only time that news is held back after market hours is because it is not necessarily good news. We see it all of the time. Earnings almost on a regular basis. In a good news situation, there is absolutely no reason for it. I think this is the kind of PR mistake that we seem to make repeatedly. If the news isn't going to negatively move the market, get it out there.

Alright, I have belabored the point enough. If it was a mistake, and I make no pretense to know more than Mr. Pohl and the people at headquarters, then it at best is a small mistake. Probably the decision wasn't even made by DP, and even if it were, I think the mistake made was mine by even mentioning it. I have enough on my hands running my own business and have no wish to criticize how others run their's.

It was a disappointment and one that I have gotten over. I was too quick to rush in and shoot my mouth off. Again, I am sorry that I did that.
