SGE, I agree with everything you stated regarding multiple revenue streams, it takes time; problem is many investors here won’t give it the time required. For example, we had one investor on this board who recently stated she bought in 2005 for 16cents/share, sold half her position 9 months later for $2/share, and now is upset because the PPS is 60 cents/share, still close to 400% gains, but nevertheless impatient less than 2 years after making original investment. Not picking on this investor, rather, simply pointing out the mentality that most investors have when investing in penny stocks. They equate PPS to be a reflection of management performance. Not having much experience with penny stocks, I admit, I got caught up in it as well last March, but have since stopped worrying about the PPS, and concentrated on fully understanding what I own, and identifying all the risks so that whatever happens, I learn from it, as well as hopefully prosper….financially.

As you, I have not been a huge proponent of the dividends, but after giving it much thought, listening to folks on this board, as well as researching companies that pay dividends and why, I wonder about the following. Dividends are usually paid by management to send a strong signal to its shareholders and the investment world that they expect continued success. With that said, think about all the risk or unknowns with Patriot, i.e. outstanding warrants, on-going litigation, less than 100% transparency with license deals (TPL calls the shots), traded over the counter, restatement of financials, Fish lawsuit, setting up diverse revenue streams taking time, etc. Seems to me management wanted to say hey, we have a lot to work out, but we also want you to know that we believe in our patents and the future revenue and stability that will be generated from them. With all the “Cooking the Books” companies of late, earnings are perceived by the street to not always be reliable, whereas dividends are reliable, you either get them or you don’t. So, maybe the paying of dividends is simply management’s way of making what at times has appeared very ambiguous, to be a little more transparent. Just my 2 cents. Thanks for always providing thought provoking dialogue on this board. If we ever meet up, I owe ya a beer or two or three….and if Ease is there, maybe a dozen! GLTAL
