Here is an interesting read during these intriguing times. A couple of fairly prominent Free Software/Free Hardware proponents are discussing (chat) the merits of Patriot’s technology. To set the stage: the chat occurred when we were head-to-head with Intel, We were up to our eyeballs with litigation costs (Japanese companies) and quickly running out of money.
The documented discussions go as far as to:
<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
- Concede that Patriot’s Patents are valid
- Acknowledge that Patriot is a real company trying to innovate, develop and sell microprocessors. And acknowledges the irony that Patriot is not a big greedy (“evil”) company
- Predict that Patriot will run out of money and be forced to sell out to a “buyer’ and goes on to predict that Chuck will be the buyer.

If you don’t have the time to read the documents, at least do a keyword search on “PTSC” and “Patriot”…I think you will enjoy the banter.
It leaves very little doubt (if any) that friends of PUBPAT have been medaling in our business for several years. And it points to my conclusion that those close to Patriot have been anticipating the PUBPAT USPTO activity for a very long time…
