This is the process that is used and will continue to be used. Think about it? Get any of your animals neutered and what happens? They get fat.

This is why male cows are better than female cows. You can't really neuter a female cow. It would be cost prohibitive. You can always fairly easily neuter a male because cuttin them off requires no invasive surgery and thus the arguement for banding at birth because you place the rubber band around the testacles and after a while they disappear.

Either way, when the cows go to the feedlots to be fattened up the owners of the feedlots will always pay more for the male because they know there is more $ in them. Animals that we consume don't have it so good. Thus the arguement that the pig makes the ultimate sacrifice and the hen the donation to making a good country breakfast. Eventually, however, the hen ends up in a nice dumpling dish. So be it!
