A large % of the UK's beef, if not most, is actually reared in southern Africa.. most notably Botswana.  They have errected large, long fences there in order to attempt to separate their domestic beef... but in the process, you guessed it, much of the native wildlife has suffered... especially the migration of the wildebeest, whose numbers have been reduced by some 90%...

fyi... Botswana, which was a British protectorant, is a beautiful country full of beautiful people.. Christian, and has two national languages, Setswana & English.  The geography is extremely diverse, from the large Kalahari Desert to the grasslands of Savuti to the wetlands of the inland Okavango Delta... a spectacular place indeed.
