With all due respect (which you ARE due), it kinda depends on what "facts" you're looking at. Yes, the Markman ruling was largely in our favor, with some items going for the defense. It has been stated by you and others that even with the ruling in hand, WE would not be capable of determining the "weight" associated with each specific item in contention. Such "weighting" will be determined by the participants.
Then we got the PR. If we are to believe what it says, there is only one phrase, apparently of significant weight, that raises a concern (which may be overcome with further "scrutiny"). The word "overwhelming" keeps ringing in my ears.
So what are the facts? Our ignorant assessment of the ruling, or the public words of TPL/PTSC?
All that being said, you presume that the one phrase raising concern has to do with the '584 (ARM, though I do believe that ultimately all the patents will impact ARM)). But, in all honesty, WE don't KNOW.
While I totally agree with your thoughts re: us becoming the owners of ARM (a far fetched proposition to say the least) or any ultra extreme settlement in our favor, the PR suggests to me that we are in far better shape than you describe, or how I perceive your description (though I believe you gave it a slightly negative slant to support your message).
Now I ask for your opinions about what can reasonably expected to happen next and how soon. I've thrown out my thoughts. Anything to add/subtract? I realize that anything we think is a WAG. I'm just looking for more of a SWAG (Scientific Wild Ass Guess), that is, one with a little more meat behind it.
'Cuz I KNOW nuttin'!
