I think we all agree that cost of the MMP license has gone up big time. I tend to agree that getting a huge amount of money that was not budgeted for does present problems for many of these companies, either from timing and or actual physical availability. However, if we are indeed in the drivers seat at this time, would we still be talking one time payments for a license? And if the answer is yes, why? In my thinking the only reason we prefered one time payments in the past was the amount of work involved in overseeing the licensing program to keep licensees honest. No reason to set up such a recurring royalty payments program until you are assured that the program will not come to a halt. That point may have been reached. Also, licensees may now actually prefer to spread the pain (no longer chump change) over time. Just thinking out lound. Opty
