Not sure I agree with this post mainly because I am not aware of the USPTO ever challenging a patent, rather, patents are challenged by public organizations like PUBPAT, and companies accused of infringing on a patent. Now with that said, I have no idea if big companies have a greater influence over the USPTO during the reexamination process, but I have seen big business lose during the reexamination process, Microsoft for example with the FAT patent (US 5,579,517).
