Message: OT: My last post for today. PTSC as a religion

My last post of the day and now my first and last on this subject, belief, nothing at all to do with religion.

I really lost SGE and Century. Sorry!

billwilke and Rosewood (Welcome Back!)got it. I think that was all that posted.

Thanks for your comments. Understanding what I was trying to write is really important to me.

This is an attempt at establishing a metaphor using religious preference to look at the world in general. To me, it was both a fun exercise and something to think about. Think about how a person posts and whether they believe in PTSC or those that doubt the existence of a viable company. Both opinions are extremely important but need a real voice and a real concern and need to be heard regardless of opinion because we learn from both. Ridicule and sarcasm have no place on this board along with religion and politics. Like patience, controlling oneself is a tremendous virtue. This is America, the land of the free and the home of the brave. This OT had nothing whatsoever to do with religion per se (a taboo area like politics that shouldn't be addressed here) but was a way to look at something that you felt personally and deeply about compared to your feelings about PTSC. The reason I picked up on this is religion, like politics brings out strong gut wrenching opinions (as SGE said stay away from this and I do truly respect that opinion) that could be applied by looking at something and comparing your attitude/belief to that area. It would shed light on your true feelings about PTSC and other areas of life.

For example, in real life you may in fact be an atheist but when you consider PTSC, you are a true believer. You may be a true believer in religion but when you consider PTSC you are an agnostic. I devised this purely from my imagination, (and the article helped confirm categories) as a fun way to look at this stock and other things. I am a true believer in both religion and PTSC (so what) but there are many stocks out there where I’m a true atheist and have no belief in the lies of the corporate heads or the value of the stock. For example, look at Enron. Look at the lives destroyed by underhanded dealings. Trust and faith were broken. Many true believers were turned into atheists in something they truly believed in.

These ideas pop up in my head and even though they are OT, I believe they are worth sharing. To me, this is an introspective way of looking at life in general and its only connection with real religion was the definitions for the 4 categories that I laid out. Trust is one area that hinges the 4 beliefs together and are useful concepts when looking at your commitment to a corporation or anything else. Like Century said" there are no atheiists in foxholes". Fear does bring out the idea, am I going to nothing or some better place? I'm choosing the better place, thank you, LOL.

I could write on this forever. I found that article that I attached informative but not necessarily accurate. The author tried to compare religious beliefs with various societal issues. I didn’t necessarily agree with the correlations that he came up (apples and oranges) with but the study was interesting and I thought a better approach would be to look at other areas in life to see how they fell out. It showed me the importance of trust and belief in every day decision making and that a lot of what we believe in general surrounds these 4 categories and varies dramatically.

I truly hope none of this offends. Again, it is not about religion, but an expansive view of 4 definitions of reality of 4 different belief systems. In my thinking yesterday about PTSC this stream of thought passed by. As billwilke said, lol, most fall in the true believer category in PTSC.

I think this is a different way of looking at the world which I needed to document to apply to many situations in life that have absolutely no connection to our religious beliefs. For example, some may consider a job, or a marriage, or a club or a friend as true believers but as the relationship developed, the situation deteriorated and turned you into an atheist with regard to that. The reverse could also occur where the situation goes from no trust or belief to profound trust. This is experimentation with ideas on my part. Thanks very much for putting up with my rantings. It may be a waste of your time to think about this and for that I am sorry.

Cheers
