From the very beginning the strategy of the J's was to bury us in paper work.(ex chip family vs. chips)Arm joining the fray, in my opinion, helped with that strategy. Armed joined the suit, we did not prepare a case, other than the 584 and how it affected their customers, for them. It takes much time and effort to reverse engineer products and determine infringement, and since Arm was not in our cross-hairs at the time, we were not prepared to entertain them as a defendants. The right move was to admit non-infringement on the 584. It is better to concede the battle, than lose the war. Arm, and it's infingement, will be dealt with at a latter date.
