I have to think if anyone would know it would be Jim Turley.

Jim Turley, is a semiconductor industry analyst, editor, and presenter working in Silicon Valley. Focus technologies are 32-bit microprocessors and semiconductor intellectual property.

Before reentering the analysis profession, Jim was Senior Vice President of Strategy & Technology at ARC International plc (LSE:ARK), where he set the Company’s strategic direction and was one of only three senior executives instrumental in completing three corporate acquisitions within 18 months and in the Company’s successful initial public offering (IPO) in September 2000.

Previously, Jim was Senior Editor of the prestigious industry journal Microprocessor Report, and Editor-in-Chief of the weekly Embedded Processor Watch. He also hosted and directed the yearly Embedded Processor Forum conference, the industry's annual showcase for new microprocessors. Jim was consistently the conference’s highest-rated and most popular speaker. As an analyst and editor, Turley was a sought-after thought leader, consulting with leading semiconductor firms, providing informed advice on technology trends and market requirements, and was often called on to participate in new product reviews, strategy sessions, and technology development for large semiconductor companies around the world.

Turley is the author of seven books including Advanced 80386 Programming Techniques, the best-selling PCs Made Easy, the Essential Guide to Semiconductors, and others.
