If we did have big news coming within the next few days, wouldn't it be leaked? Would we see a rise in volume and/or SP?

I'm not sure if it was ApatentLawyer but there was an attorney who posted here a few weeks ago who stated that settlement news is very hard to keep under wraps - it usually gets leaked. I would think that news of a merger or something to that effect would also be very hard to keep under wraps.

Unfortunately, I agree with head22 - I don't think we'll hear anything before the meeting and it will be another Turley song and dance show because nothing can be disclosed during the meeting.
