I wrote to the PR rep for Alliacense asking if the consortium that owns 80.1% of NXP (the microprocessor division of Philips) should be expected to purchase a license as well. Here is his reply.

Alliacense licenses the MMP Portfolio at the system level.

The MMP Portfolio License that Philips paid for covers finished,
end-user products.

I guess that is the end of that subject. So is it safe to assume now that the license philips did purchase could be substantial?
