My point was not that a halt was required, rather I was pointing out what could happen (and what fairly often happens in unique situations like ours).  A halt in and of itself could attract additional attention to the stock, and if it did re-open at double the price or better based on the subsequent PR/8k, my thinking is that such a gap would live for eternity.

Anyhow, just food for thougt as nothing is a done deal until the ink is dry.
