I've feared a bit of that on the BMW, though the '03 has 6yr/100K warranty bumper to bumper, so that's why I'm including that old of one in the mix. Thanks for the feedback. Every bit of info is helpful. Will put your tips to use, though the BMW may be sexy enough to get me to overlook the maintenance issue (especially if warranty will cover).
