Before joining Kirby Noonan Lance & Hoge in 1988, Charlie was associated with a large, regional law firm where he practiced commercial and maritime litigation. Upon joining Kirby Noonan Lance & Hoge , Charlie gained added experience in professional liability defense, including representation of attorneys, real estate brokers and accountants, and in real estate litigation. By 1990, he had also developed an expertise in wrongful termination litigation, and served as the Chair of the San Diego County Bar Association's Labor and Employment Law Section.
Since 1990, when Charlie joined the partnership, Charlie's expertise has expanded into complex commercial litigation, including intellectual property litigation, unfair competition and trade secret disputes.
In 2002, Charlie was elected Managing Partner of the firm. He has since organized the administration of the firm to permit him to maintain a full-time litigation practice, while continuing to manage the firm.
In 2007, Charlie was honored in Southern California Super Lawyers based on a comprehensive selection process among the San Diego legal community.

Interests
Charlie is active in sports including skiing, hiking and fly fishing.
