This letter refers to one tactical event in an overall strategy to build shareholder value.  Being limited to discuss this one event shouldn't preclude the company from sharing information on other parts of the strategy, such as progress on creating new revenue streams separate from licensing, e.g., mergers, acquisitions, or joint ventures.
