Dear ```````````````
In an effort to limit the number of possible 1099 corrections we send you, TD AMERITRADE has decided to
delay your Consolidated Form 1099 for tax year 2007.
Our records indicate your account holds a position(s) with a high likelihood of a dividend reclassification. This means that certain investment instruments, such as mutual funds and Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs), may reallocate payments (e.g., from long-term capital gains to short-term capital gains) after the original 1099 has been issued, requiring us to send you a revised 1099. By delaying your form, we hope to improve the likelihood of capturing any reclassifications, while still providing adequate time for you to file your returns.
Please be assured that your Consolidated Form 1099 will be mailed to you by the end of February 2008. You may want to consider waiting to consult a tax advisor or file your 2007 tax return until you have received your Consolidated Form 1099.
You can visit our Web site to see a list of securities identified as likely to have
dividend reclassifications. And for more information on tax reporting, please log on to your account and go to "History and Statements" (under Portfolio & Accounts), then click the "Tax Center" tab and scroll down to "Frequently asked questions."
If you need any additional information, please call a Client Services representative.
Thank you for your patience in this matter.
Sincerely,
Bryce Engel
