Message: From TPL's website: U.S. Can't Afford to Mar Innovation

I sent a copy to my Senator, Barbara Milkulsi. I added a brief note of my own:

Patent reform (deform) Bill

Did you know that you can thank two small inventors, Russel Fish and Charles "Chuck" Moore, for giving your computer the ability to operate at speeds faster 120 MHZ?

It wasn't Intel and AMD who sold these microchips by the Millions for various applications for years and years. They only reaped the benefits of someone elses hard work and ingenious endeavors. Because of seven patents that cover the fundimentals that all modern day microchips operate on in products that you use every day, from your remote control, the car you drive, the computer you are using to view this, your DVD player, your microwave, your television set,and many more, that you are able to do many of the task you perform everyday in your life.

This country, which rewards innovation, thru the patent system,is the benifituary by being the world leader in technology. We all know why communism didn't work, no reward for hard work, no incentive for productivity. Then why should we remove all the incentives for creativity by taking away the rights of the small inventor? If you think about it, it just doesn't make sense.
