Actually, that's not true.

If the color of the type on the NumLock key is the same as the color of the type on the Fn key, you must depress the Fn key while you toggle the NumLock key.

If the NumLock key is the same color as the regular keys then it works independently of the Fn key.

Consequently, only one of us was right and the other was definitely wrong!
