T3 took the action probably to try and force a settlement....

EG. 

TPL/PTSC  - "T3 pay  $50 million"

T3" Uhm. How about $15 million.'"

Tpl/PTSC : " Um no.  $50 Million now. or $60 million if we have to come back next week for the check."

T3" Ok.. 20 million is the max we can do."

Tpl/PTSC"  Stop wasting our time. We think $50 million is very fair.."

T3" OK we will see you in court..... but our best offer still stands at $20 million..."

TPL/pTSC: "Bring it on."   

-- A few weeks later  T3 2 will offer $40 million... and TPL/PTSC will take it and move on....  T3 saved a few million by threating legal action......
