You bring up an older discussion that may be very relevent to our recent news.
JT is not here for a reason, but I doubt that it is because he didn't close a deal. Lots of time and money needed to do it right and at least up to the time of the settlement, there was no big money to deal with. The original 12-18 month time frame seemed reasonable to me.
I could easily believe that exchanges have occured as to how the J's settlement will be reported with JT argueing for more clarity for shareholders. Thanks to Pohl and Johnson giving TPL a say in filings, I think we know who wins.
Another possible rub, is the fact that we see TPL trying to sell other product while having a foot in the door with MMP. Would our CEO stand up to TPL and tell them they are in fact going to cost us revenue if the Sony pattern continues?
If these were any part of the case, then JT deserves alot of credit for trying to buck the system on behalf of shareholders. joe
