The more I have thought about it.... I think the settlement scenario is more in line with your post. We do not know the terms...i.e. lump sum, monthly or quarterly payments etc. The "business resolution" quote led most to think that it had to involve some business arrangement besides or other than a cash settlement. My reasons are simple. We accused these people/companies of infringement and told them they owe us alot of money. We took them to court. All through the pre-trial, all we heard was how nasty and uncooperative the J's were. We won the Markman and now the realization hit home that maybe we might really have to pay these guys a real lot. So, I do not think that at the last hour, so to speak, that all became warm and fuzzy during negotiations and they all decided to get in bed together. Maybe, I doubt it.
