FWIW. I also asked the similar question and got the identical response from Rick via Ken/Hawk. I take this to mean he knows what money is in the coffers, but didn't know the specifics of what part of that was due to the settlements, thereby being able to buy shares from his perspective. Once conveyed to him that there was a blackout period in place (which apparently conveyed to him AFTER his purchase, he will have to follow with the blackout rules). So apparently, Rick IS in control of the trust, and was able to purchase simply as someone who came on board as CEO and decided to put his money where his mouth was.

Seems a little on the splitting hairs sides, but if the loophole was there for him to do so, I certainly applaud him for doing it, and I think it speaks well of what's coming up.
