Eggbert an example of one of the reexams I was "tied to' in the past. Depending on the number of outgoing letters for example, from the examiner to the patent holder, the longer the final decision can take. Notice it took 2 years from the date of inception of the request for a reexam to the final decision of the examiner to issue a reexam certificate(18-24 mos. being normal)....and another 3-4 months to get it officially published
