The way I see it is if the SC rules in favor of Quanta (most likely IMO) then the original supplier/infringer will have to pay much, much, MUCH higher fees to obtain a license. Why should all of their customers get away with theft of the patents for free? Surely their supplier(s) have indemnity clauses in their contracts which will make THEM liable for infringement. If such is the case, and their customers cannot be sued or held liable, then the supplier will have to bear the burden of infringement to a much larger degree. JMO of course.
