In that case I agree with the shareholders voting no for a RS. If they realized cutting costs and increasing margin/profit was the way to go, rather than the quick fix....then good for them, they voted as I would have.
On the other hand with, IMO, the excess of OS that we have,once we get to a M&A situation that gives us sustainable earnings and growth, we ....might...have to use the RS to get off this terrible BB.
Don't get me wrong, normally I am no fan of RS's. But if we attain that sustainable position of earnings and growth and the PPS stalls in the 1.50-2.00 range I can seea RS coming., I admitedly read into RG's letter, that a RS is something the BOD will present to us for a vote. Yes reduce all costs as much as possible. Yes, make our net earnings grow at a good percentage of revenues. Those I agree with also, but that 400 MM shares OS will hold us back from attaining the $5 plus PPS we all are looking for IMO. Wouldn't complain, too much, if we could get $2+++ and go for 1 for 2...
