Regarding ronran's post on the Yahoo Board and now here on agora....I can accept the 'theory', (and I say theory because that is all anything is at this point), that PTSC has no additional revenue(cash) coming from the J settlement.

What I cannot accept is that the same theory applies to the business resolution (something of value other than cash). If the deal was so simplistic, for heaven's sake, why not just say so.

Did TPL/PTSC hide behind a shroud of well worded (deceptive?) pr's to position themselves for a last ditch effort in licensing those companies that signed in Feb. To me, it seems that way. It seems that those companies thought as we all did that the NDA was the J's idea and the numbers were big. Did the latest rash of companies signing in Feb do so to get in 'on the cheap' so to speak. Rationlizing the events of the settlement/NDA/business resolution pr's leads one to think that waiting to license the MMP, would have surely, meant paying more for the license.

I would be pissed if I was a company that paid out the arse for a license after finding out the j's got off cheap. Have PTL/PTSC now set a precident? Even in light of a postive USPTO ruling in validation the patents, future licensees will contend that the j's paid smaller amounts for the MMP and therefore, have TPL/PTSC set that precident?

What is more troubling to me than anything in ronran's post is that he has sources close to PTSC. I would be pissed if I were one of those 'close sources' and discovered that information that is supposed to be secret in now posted on a public forum.

That leaves me with one conclusion. Ronran's close sources didn't care. I don't believe ronran would state such senitive information without their consent.

So, if the sources don't care that ronran shares this info, what do we have here? Who knows at this point. I've always trusted and respected ronran. But, imo, he has information that some of us don't have. This is certainly, imo, not fair and from appearances, doesn't look good.

I'm rambling and have forgotten the point I was trying to make. My mind is running amuck. I'll try to clear my mind and post later.
