It may be one man's opinion but thus far it's proved to be a valuable one. I agree and think the reason behind the letter is very evident. That's why I couldn't wrap my mind around anything other than a forewarning if you will, on RG's behalf. The '336 appears to be many months away from a final office action. I'll tell you one thing watching the USPTO in action has been a lesson for me. I can certainly understand the frustrations patent holders must feel when being faced with so many obstacles.
