I guess it comes down to "What have you done or are doing for us ?" What we are able to concretely discern is that the members of the BOD can take a salary and take options for a part time job.
A letter (the current one in particular) is an active step to tell our employees we want some sort of job evaluation. Show us you too believe in the co. and want to participate in the its well being.
